11 - 17 sept

well we've had a pretty busy week, on monday we went to the park with my friend julie and her two boys, nicholas, 10 months, and ben, just four. baby james decided he needed one too many toilet breaks and we had to head home, instead of walking to khandallah, which was the original plan. uncle max came to visit in the afternoon though, and james had his second piano lesson.

i'm back at work every tuesday while bob stays home. i'm so knackered at the end of the day, it's amazing, i don't know how i worked full time!! the two boys are loving their time together tho - here they are off for a walk up the hill.

on wednesday we have plunket-in-the-neighbourhood, a coffee group. it's pretty good to get to meet the new mum's around here, everyone's always really shocked that we sleep with bub most nights, but other than that, we're all facing the same decisions, problems.

on thursday we had our first trip to the city art gallery. there's a fabulous exhibition on by a woman - ? thompson. i stil have baby brain, so in one ear, out the other. anyway she does relief installations, bronze butterflies that look as light as a feather, beautiful work. and a guy ngan exhibition. he was the NZ government artist in the 70s, commissioned to create pieces of art as the buildings were designed - in conjunction with the government architects - rather than as an adjunct to building design. again, pretty impressive. what is sad is that as the buildings were sold off and decommissioned as government buildings, a lot of the large pieces were dismantled and lost. thursday we are also going to a new baby class, which again is an excuse to meet more parents in ngaio. we also had lunch with friends i used to work with.

friday was a quiet day, i did some work and hung out at home ready for the weekend. saturday we had the inaugural bake off - a group of girls drinking champagne (not too much for me at the moment, sadly) and baking the recipe that scared us. quite comedy really. i really have moved to the suburbs.

and today we went to visit elliott alexander mcintosh, and his proud parents nicole and david. here he is with auntie grisel. a nine pound beautiful wee man. i can't believe james was that little less than three months ago. it's amazing how fast they grow - and i never believed that when people said it to us!!

this afternoon we went to antenatal class afternoon tea, all us mum's catch up at least once a week, but the dad's haven't seen any of the babies except theirs. such smug proud papas!

here's me and james, and caroline, her son finn, bob and jimbo.
